Noblesville High School Honors Wayne Specht, Jessica Kiser
Wayne Specht and Jessica Kiser have been named Nobles High School’s Athletes of the Week after their performances over the Christmas break.
Specht was honored for the week of Dec. 22 for his 152-pound weight-class victory over in overtime at the Hamilton County Wresting meet.
Kiser was honored for her 17-point, 8-rebound, 4-steal, 2-assist performance in the Lady Millers’ 62-53 victory over Anderson for the week of Jan. 4.
Noblesville’s Krissi Davis On Silver Anniversary Team
Krissi Davis, who helped lead Noblesville High School to a 27-0 record and the girls state basketball championship in 1987, has been named to the 2012 Silver Anniversary team.
Davis also was a four-year standout for the University of Notre Dame women’s basketball team.
A member of the Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame, Davis will be one of 18 women honored at the Hall of Fame banquet on April 28 in Indianapolis at Primo Banquet Hall.
January 6 Is Military Appreciation Night At Fishers
The Athletic Department at Fishers High School would like to recognize past and present service members at a varsity boys basketball game on Friday, Jan. 6 at 7 o’clock against Westfield High School.
“We would like to offer each service member the opportunity to experience the spirit of our Fishers HS Tiger Community. We will provide admissions for you and your immediate family and 2 concession items for the evening,’’ said Fishers co-athletic director Jon Miles.
Military service members are asked to provide their Identification or record of service at the admissions table upon arrival. They are to enter Door FH7 on the east side of the building.
National No. 1 Carmel Soccer Team To Be Honored
Carmel’s girls soccer team, the 2011 Class 2A state champion, will be recognized as the top team in the nation Friday night during halftime of the boys basketball game between the Greyhounds and Center Grove.
The award will honor coach Frank Dixon’s unbeaten Lady Greyhounds as the ESPNHS/PowerAde top team in the nation.
Millers Plan Baseball Camp For Jan. 15-16
Noblesville varsity baseball coach Justin Keever will conduct the 2012 Miller Winter Baseball Camp on Jan 15-16 at the Noblesville Freshman Campus Baseball Facilities.
Keever will be joined by the Millers baseball coaching staff and Bob Keeney, Executive Director of Noblesville Youth Baseball. Keeney is in charge of player and coach development. The camps offer a opportunities to learn new drills and skills. The camps are open to youth through K-8.
