Noblesville Babe Ruth Set For World Series
The Noblesville Gold Babe Ruth (16-18) program, which lost the opener and then won its final seven games en route to capturing the Ohio Valley Regional, punched its ticket to the Babe Ruth World Series.
The championship will be contested at Ephrata, Wash., on Aug. 6-13.
There will be 10 teams competing from the USA, as well as the host Ephrata, Wash., squad, when pool play gets under way. Teams will be divided into two divisions, with Noblesville in the National Division.
Noblesville’s pool play schedule:
Aug. 6 – vs. Portland, Ore., 2 p.m.
Aug. 7 – vs. Puget Sound, Wash, 5 p.m.
Aug. 8 – Cape Cod, Mass. at 11 a.m.
Aug. 10 – Eagle Pass, Texas, at 2 p.m.
The top three seeds in each division advance to the single-elimination bracket, with the top seeds receiving a bye. The second seed in one division will play the third seed in the other division on Aug. 11, with the No. 3 American team playing the No. 2 National team at 5 p.m. and the No. 3 National team facing the No. 2 American team at 8 p.m.
The first-game winner plays the top-seeded American team at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, with the second-game winner playing the No. 1 National team at 8 p.m. Friday’s winners advance to the championship game on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m.
