HSE’s Jess Stewart To Play At Indiana Wesleyan
Hamilton Southeastern senior Jessica Stewart has announced her intent to continue her basketball career at the collegiate level. Jessica will attend Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. The Wildcats are an NAIA Division II program that competes in the Mid-Central Conference.
Jessica recovered from an ACL tear in December of 2010 and helped lead the Royals to a No. 1 ranking in 2011-12.
Stewart, who averaged 8.0 points and 2.9 rebounds and was named honorable mention in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference, is also a member of the HSE
student Athletic Council.
Carmel Volleyball Camp Dates Set
Coach Rich Coleman will hold his second annual Carmel volleyball camp on May 30-31.
It’s for incoming students in grades 8-9.
The camp is from 1:30-4:30 p.m. each day. Cost is $70.
The Carmel coaching staff, along with athletes and alumni, will be working all camps that will be held at the Carmel High School Fieldhouse.
All campers will receive a camp t-shirt. Incoming Freshman are HIGHLY encouraged to attend!

Delph Commits to Marian University
Jaidlin Delph, Sheridan’s career scoring leader in girls basketball with 1,194 points, has committed to play basketball at Marian University.
Several Noblesville High School student-athletes have announced plans to continue their careers at various colleges:
■ Golf: Brenna Obergfell has committed to Ball State University.
■ Baseball: Brock Hammond has committed to Wabash College; Nevin Fansher has committed to Rose-Hulman; and Sam Wides has committed to Parkland Junior College.
■ Swimming: Tommy VerBrugge has committed to Western Kentucky.

BASEBALL: Hamilton SE Vs. North Central In Victory Field Classic
Hamilton Southeastern’s baseball team will play North Central in the second game of the Victory Field Classic on April 28 at 7:30 p.m. Avon and Center Grove will meet in the opener at 5:30.
North Central is a potential sectional opponent for the Royals.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $5
For $3 (cash only) per vehicle, fans may park in the Victory Field parking lot. Parking will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Westfield Track Meet Big Success For American Cancer Society
The recent Westfield-Fishers track meet at Westfield High School made $1,191 for the American Cancer Society.
“We charged admission when we don’t usually for track meets, and we took donations from a bake sale and a raffle. This far exceeded our expectations,’’ Westfield girls track coach Jenna Kruse said. “The athletes came up with the idea . . . and we ran with it.
“It was near and dear to our hearts as one of our (male) athletes lost his mother this season due to cancer.’’
Former Tiger Baseball Player to Work for NASA
Former Fishers High School baseball player, and 2009 Alum Jacob Banitt has been selected to work for NASA at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. Banitt is currently a junior student at Purdue University. As a Tiger, Banitt was the starting second baseman for the ’09 Tigers. He played in 27 games while hitting .239 with a triple and 6 RBIs. Banitt also had a .955 fielding percentage making only 4 errors all season, which places him 2nd all time for the best fielding percentage in a season by a Tiger 2B, SS, or 3B. This feat helped earn him the Most Improved Player Award his senior season. Banitt also received the GPA Award for the Top Baseball GPA in the program.

Hamilton Heights baseball players Tyler Anderson and Colton Elbrecht plan to sign to play baseball at Loyola University Chicago, a Division I school in the Horizon League, this week. Both players have earned their varsity letters each year since they were freshmen. Anderson is one of the top pitchers in Hamilton County, and Elbrecht does the catching for the Huskies.
Elsewhere:
■ Fishers HS senior Chris Chang has signed a letter of intent to accept a football scholarship and attend Taylor University next fall. Chris will join FHS teammate Patrick Stevens at Taylor who also accepted a football scholarship from the Trojans. Taylor is an NAIA affiliated school and competes in the Mid-States Football Association.
■ Fishers’ Sam Makadji signed a national letter of intent to play football at Indiana State University next fall where he will be a preferred walk-on football candidate. The Sycamores compete in the FCS division of the NCAA and the Missouri Valley Conference. Sam has been a 2-year starter at defensive end for the Tigers, starting 25 of the 27 games during that time including the 2010 Indiana 5A State Championship.
■ Hamilton SE’s senior Courtney Wilder has announced her intent to continue her diving career at the collegiate level. Courtney will attend the University of Indianapolis. The Greyhounds are a Division II program that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Courtney earned four varsity letters in diving at HSE. This season, Courtney finished 5th at the IHSAA State Finals. She has also been an All-American qualifier 3 times.
■ Hamilton SE’s Kristin Predajna has announced her intent to continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level. Kristin will attend Indiana Wesleyan University. The Wildcats are an NAIA program that competes in the Mid-Central College Conference (MCC). Predajna earned two varsity letters in volleyball at HSE. Kristin was voted Most Improved Player as a junior. This season, she led the team in kills and was named All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference.

HSE, Carmel Capture State Hockey Championships
Hamilton Southeastern and Carmel won Indiana State High School Hockey Association championships over the weekend at the Pepsi Coliseum.
Coach Mike Berger’s Hamilton Southeastern “A’’ team won the Class 4A championship by defeating South Bend St. Joseph’s 3-1 on Sunday. It was HSE’s third state championship in four years.
The Carmel BLUE Ice Hounds captured the Class 2A championship on Saturday, defeating Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger 3-2.
IU Health Sports Speed & AgilityCamp At Hamilton SE
IU Health Sports Performance & HSE Sports Performance Coach Carey Siminski have announced the dates & times for their Speed & Agility Camp for this summer.
This camp, scheduled for July 23-26, is designed for boys and girls age 7-14. It will run from 1-4 p.m. each day at Hamilton Southeastern High School.
Cost is $95.

Boys Basketball Pairings Show Sunday At 3 p.m.
The pairings for the 102nd boys basketball state tournament will be announced at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Boys Basketball Hype Night Feb. 20 At HSE
Everyone is welcome to hang out with the Hamilton SE boys basketball team at Hype Night, on Monday, Feb. 20 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Main Gym. See players in shooting contests, a performance by the Pacers’ Boomer, win autographed items, and more.
Admission is $1 per person and one canned food item per family to go to the Fall Creek Township Trustee Food Pantry.
Southeastern Announces College Signings
• Senior Brooke Morgan will continue her cross country and track and field career at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Brooke is a 2-time IHSAA State qualifier. She was the individual Hamilton County Champion in 2010 and individual Hoosier Crossroads Conference Champion in 2011. In track, Brooke was an IHSAA Sectional and Regional champion in 2010 in the 3200 meter run. She was also All State in the 3200 in 2010. In 2011, Brooke and 3 teammates were All-State in the 4 x 800 meter relay.
• Senior lineman Nestor Porres will attend Butler University. Nestor earned two varsity letters in football. In 2011, he was All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference – Honorable Mention and an Indiana Football Coaches Association Academic All-State selection.
• Senior Sean Clancy has announced his intent to continue his football career at Indiana State in Terre Haute. Sean has two varsity letters in football, and also competes in varsity rugby as well.
Heights’ Chapman To Run XC At Indiana State
Sydney Chapman, who has committed to Indiana State University to compete in cross country, plans to sign on Feb. 22.
